If the rumors about Gar and Thibs not getting along are true, and they seem to be realistic, given that they fired Thibs assistant, I can see Thibs wanting to go somewhere else. The front office seemed to really drag their feet giving him an obviously deserved extension.  Also doesn't help that the only elite player Thibs has is constantly hurt.

He opts for cartilage repair that requires a longer-term recovery, and then lacks the basic understanding of how that changes the team's title trajectory.

So he shouldn't have opted for the correct procedure?
