Couldn't they just dock his pay then? I just don't see how you can suspend an executive for eight games when all he does during those games is sit in a suite and watch the game. Is he barred from team facilities during those game weeks? Incapable of communicating with his staff? That just seems pointless.

I'm sure they'll have a laundry list of shit he's forbidden to do and if they find out he's in violation of any it, they'll damage his pockets even further.

Well, I think we can assume he's probably not going to be allowed to negotiate with Brees during that time. 
They might want to try and fast-track that a bit.

Michael Bush is now a Bear. Good player, similar to Barber but with less wear and tear. Good insurance for a Forte holdout. Hopefully Matt realizes he has absolutely no leverage now and he'll sign a contract with a much friendlier cap hit than 7.7 mil a year.

I think he's a lot better than Barber and a heck of a lot more durable.

Yeah, big backs like that really don't hold up well as full time starters. Limit him to 10-15 touches a game and look out. Plus, he's a good receiver as well, so that helps. Between the contract he turned down last year, the injury blowing up in his face, and the Bears having a quality number two, Forte has to realize he's got no options, right?
