385/538/692 since getting engaged.

Interestingly, however, Addison Russell's been .307/.400/.846 since being accused on Instagram of hitting his girlfriend.

I wonder if he hasn't been playing worse because of the stress/pressure. Long term, that might still be an issue for him this year, but at least the news is now out, so he no longer has to worry about how people will react to things. (This is true even if his failing marriage was the only cause of his stress.)
M'lady.

Was Rizzo's homerun tonight fair? Amazingly the Cubs website doesn't have the Cubs broadcast of the full debacle, but has the Pirates broadcast, and I was at the game, so hell if I know.

Were Len and J.D. really that critical that they can't post the Cubs footage?

Bump.  He's pretty good leading off games.
Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

I really do wonder if there's something to the whole "easing into the game" thing where pitchers maybe just aren't as sharp to the first batter of the game and an elite hitter like Anthony is just crushing those mistakes, or if he's just Tony and he's in one of his shit white hot streaks. Probably a little from column A and B.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Wonder less and enjoy the ride.

Why? Is this another case of measuring someone's performance against the Dipshit Cubs Fan Expectations Baseline instead of your own baseline?

Take a look at Adam LaRoche's line for 2006 and cheer up, son.

Remember when Adam LaRoche was the bar we set for Anthony Rizzo?

Those were halcyon days.

Let's not slap "we" on Peck's ramblings. I was always high on Rizzo, Slaky and Yeti though should be ashamed. ASHAMED.

I'm pretty sure I said that about a couple dudes back then, tongue in cheek. Either way, I'll wear the shame if I must

This is why I try to be generally positive on Cubs prospects and instead focus my anger on easy pickings like Chris Coghlan. The Grandpa Ross thing kinda blew up in my face though.

There are far worse things than a guy on the Cubs being better than you thought he'd be.

I'm not going to bother turd-mining last year's playoff threads and twitter but I am guessing there's probably some stuff there that would indicate you're using a different definition of always than I am.

Oh I've probably bitched about every single Cub and their mother during games when I hulked out, I meant more Rational Day Time Fan SKO generally tries not to make predictions of DOOM for Cubs prospects, not when there's the easy pickings of bitching about a backup catcher that are less likely to be get me FYSKO'd for a decade if the kid pans out.

I was kind of a dick about Almora in 2015, though. I blame Eli and peer pressure.

Do I still have Slak's quote as my sig? Or did I change it to Gil's line about Bonds' OBP? Let's find out...

At least you can still stand by that one.
