I'm a fan of Lou's but my favorite is My Pie. I'm sure I'm the only one but I don't care. It's the Giordano's type of thick I can't stand. Sits in my stomach like a brick. Tonk wouldn't be the first person that's come over here from SocialistWorld and not wanted to try our pizza. I am not offended.

I'm down for any shoutlunch so someone fire me a text when you guys figure out where it is as long as it's in the city.

I hear the Cheesecake Factory is nice...

I enjoy My Pie. Their cheeseburger pizza isn't bad.

I prefer pizza on my pizza.

Tonker, just wanted to make you aware that Skrine Chops is primarily carry out. They do have a counter area with 4 or 5 seats but it is very small. There is a plaza next door outside of the CBOE where you can sit if this godforsaken heat ever breaks.
The food is solid for a MEATSANDWICH lunch choice though.

You'll be back at your hotel asleep within an hour.

It's about a hundred feet from where I work, let me know if you decide to go and I'll make sure I stay home that day.

Tonks

Chipotle is a national chain (originally started by McDonalds) that makes west coast style burritos (e.g. they use rice inside).  Its ok (a bit better than McDs does burgers) but far from anything to travel 5,000 miles for

One thing to consider is that Chicago is more a taco or torta town than a burrito town.  A couple of my local standbys are:

http://www.yelp.com/biz/dona-torta-chicago#query:tacos%20al%20pastor
Dona Torta is a tacoria (doesn't serve alcohol), but does some pretty good stuff

For a restaurant http://www.yelp.com/biz/mi-tierra-cocina-mexicana-chicago-3 is good, and serves good margaritas as well.

There are dozens of places that im sure are better (including the taco places at Western/Milwaukee and Armitage, which have Margies around as an added bonus), but these are good (and near the public transport)

Let me know your dates, I am out on this Friday and Saturday morning but otherwise want to join.

McDonald's invested in Chipotle heavily and helped it expand beyond Colorado but didn't start it. They sold their stake afterwards. Not that anyone cares.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

Ann.  Fucking.  Sathers.

Holy shit, what a fucking incredible breakfast.  I had the biscuits and sausage gravy, poached eggs and extra sausage, red potato hash browns with cheese (which were really delicious) and THOSE FUCKING CINNAMON ROLLS.  What a stupid amount of really, really delicious food for not very much money - indeed, no money at all seeing as Oleg treated me.  Good job he was there to help me eat the buns, though.  I may very well be dead now (smiling, but dead) if he hadn't mucked in.

The Swedes do not seem to be great consumers of potted meat. And let's just not drag in the Pennsylvania Deutsche to make matters worse. You want Swedish breakfasty offal? Here, you have Swedish breakfasty offal:

For the sake of posterity, this is what I ate, and where:

Friday: Dillinger's (Dillinger's burger)

Saturday: Lincoln Inn, Dekalb (bagel with bacon, sausage, egg & cheese); Huey's family cook out (cheeseburger, spicy cajun sausage, italian sausage)

Sunday: Ann Sather (Southern Decadence benedict, cheese hash browns, CINNAMON FUCKING BUNS), Pork Shoppe (pork belly pastrami, pulled pork, steak)

Monday: McDonald's (McGriddles), Portillo's (Italian beef, dipped, sweet; cheese fries), Wrigley Field (hot dog)

Tuesday: Big & Little's (soft shell crab po'boy, truffle fries), Northdown Cafe (pork frites)

Wednesday: Hot Doug's (Chicago dog, Italian sausage, duck sausage with foie gras); Timothy O'Toole's (Little Timmy burger)

Thursday: Skrinechops (tenderloin sammich with mashed potato); Kincade's (wings)

Friday: Kuma's (Sausage fritters, King Bong burger)

Saturday: Bakin' & Eggs (caramelised onion frittata with blue cheese, sausage, house potatoes with cheese); Candlelite (Italian meat lovers' pizza, white pizza)

Sunday: unexpected breakfast at the Hilton Hotel, O'Hare.  Rassafassarickrastardley.
Your toilet's broken, Dave, but I fixed it.
