You should probably limit the timeframe to when the forward pass was really in play.  

They don't seem to have stats until the 1932 season for the Bears, at which point Keith Molesworth and Bernie Masterson were throwing for roughly 400 yards per season. Not until Luckman came in 1940 did they really have any semblance of a passing game.

So, 70 years, 3 QBs = 23.3 years per good QB.

I think you'd be pretty hard-pressed to find many long-established NFL franchises doing measurably better than that.

Big mistake by Halas, in retrospect, was letting Bobby Layne go in favor of Lujack, who was much more highly touted coming out of ND but quite ordinary, as it turned out, as a pro.

The bears are 13-42 when trailing at the half in Lovie's tenure. Halftime adjustments are overrated, better to stick to the plan.

I just checked the 2010 regular season, and NFL teams were 58-198 when trailing at the half. A 13-42 record seems to be right around average -- maybe a bit above average.
