OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Dave Brubeck, 91.

Another one for the 'He was still alive?!?!?!?' file.

If he'd hung on one more day, he would have been 92.

His timing was weird up to the end.

I saw him perform with his quartet when I was a freshman at Cal in 1953.  Blew me away (especially Paul Desmond).  I saw him again a couple of years ago in New Orleans.  Except for the fact that his pants came up to just under his armpits, if you closed your eyes the sound was just like 1953, and it was great.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

I saw him twice during the late 80's / early 90's.
He was the best cross-eyed jazz pianist that couldn't read music that I've ever heard.

I'm going to continue to recommend Don Ellis on the same general principles that lead me inexorably to Tonga and the Shindigger dancers.
