There have to be better ways to raise money for charity than lame T-shirts (Al) and sleep deprivation (Bleacher Brett), right?  "Donate lots of money and 'force' me to stay up for 30 hours" seems like a really weird sales pitch.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

Or he should ask himself, "Can the Cubs mend my broken heart?"

That line is what got me in trouble in the first place

I thought the line that got you in trouble was "Grass on the field? Play ball!"

Read these quotes from Sveum and tell me these aren't the words of a broken man.

"It's almost comical to see this happen every single night," Sveum said. "We have the lead and get beat by guys who sometimes hardly even hit home runs. [Norris] had one at-bat off a left-hander in 15 days and beats us with a three-run homer."

"I'm not concerned about [losing players due to trades]," Sveum said. "We're still viable and able to fill those roles now. If you start getting more thin, then things change. I'm not worried. They're professional players and they have to go out and perform."

"You're trying to stay out of a double play and make something happen, and once again, we didn't perform and swung right through a fastball," Sveum said.

That doesn't sound like a man with the passion and the fire.  He had to know what he was signing up for but it seems like it's been worse than he even thought.

The Cubs may not be going anywhere this season (although with a 370/377 RS/RA ratio, they're one hammering by the Angels away from being a de facto .500 team), but beating (and blanking) the Tards never, ever gets old.

Also, I was very sorry to see noted gentleman Matt Holliday pull up with a sore hamstring.  I do hope he gets better soon.

But I don't have the blood in the mouth laugh over it that I used to have. It sucks. I want that feeling again.

Submitted into evidence as Exhibit B in Pex's transition towards full-blown Cardinal fandom.
