OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

So this is the one player who any of us could replace with literally no degradation of production.

Offensively anyway.

You really gotta tip your cap to Wandy Rodriguez though.

I laughed out loud at this.

You deserve to know.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

It looks like Hal Finney in 1936 is our gold standard.

Interesting that he had 3RBIs and 3Rs, but no walks or sacrifices (unless BB and SH/SF weren't counted back then)

His position listing is catcher/pinch runner, and he had 8 SBs that year, so the runs most likely came in that capacity.

If you ground out for a single out, you get credit for an RBI without it being a sacrifice. That's the safest guess for his RBIs.

EDIT: According to his gamelog, it's a pretty safe assumption that's exactly how it went down.

In 1933 Finney was 5th in the league with four passed balls in only 47 games.

Obviously the Cubs just need to load the bases for him every time.  Then he'd be hitting 1.000.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.  I must have missed the original.

That's okay.  You must have missed the last time that the Cubs loaded the bases for Nillibridge, too.

Even the fact that he wears a hoodie under his uniform and the hood sticks out and flops around and he looks like an idiot pisses me off.

Someone needs to write the Ballad of Kameron Loe.
