OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Have the Cubs ever swept the Giants at AT&T before?

Nosir. Last Cub sweep at San Francisco was in September 1993 at the Stick per PAUL SULLIVAN.

Which begs the question: Has a team coming off of 100 losses ever swept the defending champs in their own building before? I'm just kidding, the question is not begged. Don't look it up. Seriously, you guys are weird. Don't.

No, considering the question was only raised, not begged.

Begging the question is an entirely different concept...but whatever.

I feel like this could be written a little more clearly.

Gils gonna Gil.

He's right. Just because people use the phrase incorrectly does not change the meaning of the phrase, just like people not understanding "irony" does not change its meaning.

Just sayin'.  Or pilin' on.

I'm not a prescriptivist on most things linguistic, but on this one, I most certainly am.

You beg the question when you assume the conclusion of your argument in the premise.

Example -

Internet Apex: "That man is mad."
Gil: "How do you know?"
Internet Apex: "Well he just looks mad, therefore he's mad."
Gil: "You're begging the question."
Internet Apex: "Eat a dick."

Pex may be right in telling me to eat a dick, but he's wrong on the central question of whether the man is mad.  Here's how the convo should have gone.

Internet Apex: "That man is mad."
Gil: "How do you know?"
Internet Apex: "His face is red, commonly associated with high blood pressure and stress.  His hands are shaking as well.  And two minutes before this, I saw him and another man engaging in a heated argument."
Gil: "Good points.  I agree that the man is made.  However, that raises the question of how stress and anger can cause physiological change in hu---."
::punches Gil::
Internet Apex: "Shut up!"

NOW THAT'S HOW YOU DON'T BEG THE QUESTION!!

Well this changes everything. Stay away from the mad made man.

I was going to say, Gil raised the question of if the man was made.

He is... The Most "Interesting" Man in the World.

Gils gonna Gil.

PS: I know Gil's right. It's just so Gil to correct someone on a message board who is using informal writing.

Eh, I was mostly having fun.

As Thrill said in the SBox, I knew what Apex was saying, I just wanted to stickpoke Apex a little.

And makes you vulnerable to counter-stickpoking from the more, as the French say, "Bortesque" corners of the Internet.

The Americans' name is also Bortesque.

We're out of Bortesque license plates at the gift shop.

Good. Sorry in advance to Gil about the incorrect use of "longtime" and "anyway."

There's no need to apologize...

just don't do it again.
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.
