Costco has cases of Paulaner and Hofbrau for octoberfest. Good times had by all. Sam Adams octoberfest also surprised me, is actually a good beer. Spaten is the king still.

They also have Goose Island Harvest Ale, which is a tasty beverage.

I had my first Hobgoblin on draft at a local tavern last night. Fucking tremendous dark English ale. I won't describe the taste because I was already drunk and just know that I loved what was happening in my mouth at the time.

Not sure if any Big Sky beers are available in your areas, but they've just issued a limited release of their Heavy Horse Scotch Ale.

They're a solid (not spectacular) brewery, but this is an interesting addition as there aren't a ton of good American-made Scotch Ales on the market.

You know what was a good beer that I had one time, never to be had again (yet)?

Franziskaner's hefeweiss. I guess they're owned by Spaten so I'm sure I'm getting the look of disapproval from somewhere in Tulip World.

Weird, I also tried it once, enjoyed it well enough, but never had it again.

I've had it twice.  It was on tap at a bar which I cannot remember.  Possibly because I was hammered on Franziskaner.

So fruit type beers = suck

In Germany, it isn't uncommon to put cola in a dunkelweiss.. I tried it, it was alright. Wasn't as good as the dunkelweiss by itself,
which was outstanding.

Dogfish Head makes a berlinerweiss called Festina Peche. It's made with peaches. It's tart as hell and I quite like it.

See?  And he doesn't care who knows it.

The Festina Peche is actually pretty good.

They used to have it on tap at Silver Cloud - easily one of my favorite bars in Bucktown - and then one day this summer I went in and asked for it. They said they got rid of it and told me I was the only one that liked it. Goddamn you to hell, Bucktown.

I'm pretty sure I had it at Sheffield's, but only had it after Mrs. Butthead ordered one. So that probably doesn't help the argument for drinking fruity beers.

Hey Slak, at the Whole Foods here in North Scottsdale, you can get 4-packs of Festina Peche, right next to the 6-packs of DFH's Aprihop.

What's wrong with Aprihop? It's pretty good, too. I lick Dogfish Head's ass though. Anything they put out, I'll try.

Drain pour terrible, which is something I never do.

The fact that I don't really like pumpkin may have played a part in that.

But the Burton Baton? Fantastic.
