As if the hospital wasn't crappy enough, I can't even read about beer.

I thought the point of a hospital was to make people feel better. Hippocratic oath my ass.

QuoteWe pair five cuts of bacon with five beers to give you the ultimate beer and bacon experience. The beers change seasonally, so even if you've already enjoyed a Paddy's beer and bacon tasting, check back again for all new pairings.

Just went here for a really late lunch/early dinner.

Go here.  Didn't do the tasting menu, but the food was awesome.  There's cheese sauce for their fries that is outstanding.  I had a bacon explosion sandwich (on the online menu, they call it a bacon bomb).  If you don't like meat, this will make you change your mind.

Oh yeah, we also got the deep fried bacon, too.

Just really good food.

This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20110126/NEWS07/110129885/walgreen-branded-beer-on-tap

Quote(Crain's) — Months after restocking alcohol on its shelves following a 15-year dry spell, Walgreen Co. is offering a private-label beer.

Big Flats 1901 carries a suggested retail price of $2.99 for six cans and $11.49 for a 24-pack, according to Beer Business Daily.

The beer is brewed by Genesee Brewing Co. in Rochester, N.Y., owned by Novato, Calif.-based Winery Exchange, a private-label alcohol company that also distributes to Costco, Trader Joe's and Cost Plus World Market.

Walgreen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

TPD.

http://www.danwei.org/advertising_and_marketing/pabst_goes_upmarket.php

QuoteThe above advertisement appears on the inside front cover of the current issue of Window of the South (南风窗), a respected biweekly business magazine. At first glance it looks like an ad for a wine or a brandy, but closer inspection reveals the actual brand: Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer 1844.

1844 was the year that the Pabst Brewing Company was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the US, the beer's lack of pretension led to a recent upswing in popularity among hipsters.

With 1844, the brand seems to be targeting a different demographic in the Chinese market.

$45 a bottle.

(Spoiler: it's not actually the PBR lager we're familiar with here, but rather a barrel-aged specialty ale.)

Stupid hipsters.

Its lack of pretension led to it becoming beloved by the most pretentious sector of society.

That's an easy one Pen, if it wasn't ironic, hipsters wouldn't do it.
