If he the one in Japan? If so, these will all likely be new to him.

Tell him to look for anything from Ballast Point, Odell, Rogue, Deschutes, Oskar Blues and Left Hand.

Those will likely be readily available and all will suffice. 

If he's looking for hyper-local, Nevada isn't really well-known for local micro-breweries.
Here's a list of all the brewers in Nevada - I can't really speak to any of them, except Gordon Biersch which is very unremarkable.

I EARNED this beer, man.  

The place I went ended up getting 36 total 6-packs and they were all sold out before the store opened at 8 am.

I don't know if Boulder has more committed beer snobs than Lincoln Park (per capita probably, but doubtful on total) but that's really surprising if it holds true and you can get one that late in the day.
