I like this draft. The safety thing is concerning but at least Vereen's a very interesting prospect. I don't know how much he can contribute in year one. People forget the Bears managed to have a pretty good defense in 2010-2012 with the same two shitty ass safeties they had last year, so I'm pretty sure Phil's banking on everyone else in front of them being better to cover up some deficiencies on the back end.

To that respect I definitely like the picks of Ego and Sutton. I found it hilarious when everybody raged over them leaving Sutton on the board to take Ferguson only to get him in the 3rd round. Sutton's back at the weight he was playing at his junior year when he had 13 sacks before his coaches asked him to beef up and he dropped to 4. A 3rd down pass rush package of Allen-Houston-Sutton-Young should get some pressure.

Also I really don't get anyone bitching about drafting a punter in the sixth round. It's the sixth fucking round. One Tom Brady going there 15 years ago should not preclude you from ever using a usually meaningless pick on a specialist your team actually needs.

I'd have to say that not too many teams had what appeared to be terrible drafts on the surface. That probably meshes with the perception that this draft was extraordinarily deep, but there weren't too many teams that seemed to fuck up glaringly, which probably explains the poll. I have no doubt Lions fans are a bit upset with the team's refusal to address glaring weaknesses at CB and Safety for the 18th straight year. Even the Raiders and Cowboys passed up potentially hilarious and stupid choices in the first round for safer and seemingly smarter picks.

NFL Network was pulling for Dallas to draft Manziel really hard. I couldn't understand why. I figured it'd ether be Oakland or Cleveland.
