Lots of pieces started to move into place this week. Betting next week will be a big one.

Is my namesake dead or alive? Is name association what drives Jimmy to go "s'all good, man!"?

I think he's dead and Jimmy cries louder than anybody at the funeral. Kim will see that and hopefully get as far away from him as possible. Sticking around would be as bad for her as it was for Chuck.

DPD.

Just what in the hell is Mike doing and where the hell is this headed?  I'm wondering if Hector's subsequent incapacitation came at the hands of Mike

Also, I just finished re-watching Season 3 of Breaking Bad and stumbled across this gem the first time Saul Goodman met Skyler White to discuss laundering and he was trying to tell her that any story can be sold if told the right way.

"Hey-I once convinced someone I was Kevin Costner".

That, of course, actually happened during Season 1 of BCS.  These fucking writers really mined BB in order to maintain continuity.

To date, I've only spotted two flaws, which is pretty good when you do a series in the order that Gilligan and Co. are doing.  The first flaw is that Mike's granddaughter apparently is stuck in the same age forever.  If anything, she almost seems older in BCS than she does in BB.  The other flaw I spotted was when Saul and Walter were discussing money laundering and Saul said something to the effect of "God, I miss the 1980's"--the implication being that money laundering was easier then.  However, in watching BCS, it doesn't seem Jimmy's legal career stretches back that far.  A (very) minor quibble to be sure.  I mean, I can't imagine how difficult it is to stick to certain details when doing a prequel, but these guys are pretty on top of it.  You'll notice the phones are all 1990's flip phones, there are references to VCR's and such etc.  Just outstanding attention to detail.

Also, I'm wondering if, when BCS draws to a close, whether Gilligan will try a third attempt; this time set the stage for after Breaking Bad--which has already been hinted at with the bumper scenes which have preceded each season's premier episode.  I have no idea how one could make an interesting show about a Cinnabon manager--especially after reaching the thrilling heights that the character reached in BB-- but people initially thought centering a show around Saul Goodman seemed strange and yet Gilligan has pulled it off expertly so I wouldn't put it past him.

Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

I was wondering when they'd get to Gus.  They've done a good job so far only bringing in the old Breaking Bad characters when it grows organically from the story rather than forcing it.  No need to rush anything.

That being said, these two can't get here fast enough.

For my neighbors' sake, I hope they're not home when I exclaim with delight at the first introduction of those two on BCS.

It could also be BINGS FRACK, in which a modern day Jimmy at the Cinnabon discovers via the pepsi of search engines that an oil company is using unscrupulous tactics to extract oil from the local shale.
