I can't believe we have a thread about Brian Schlitter.

I can't believe we have one about David Ross.

If we can have a firebarn thread for Jeff Samardzija, we can have one for David Ross.

HEY!

I just missed you. Wanted to say hello.

I kind of hope Snork re-signs with the Cubs this offseason. Best case he's a solid #3, worst case we've already got the thread warmed up.

No. He's perfect right where he is.

A burning barn?

Not quite perfect I guess.

BUMP

Well, he struck out Myers before the home run, so I can't be too tough on him.

The Cubs have been absolutely fucking hosed by Holbrook today.

That was some bullshit umping.

It was utterly amazing he actually got three strikes on a hitter. There was zero chance he was going to get a fourth.

Maddon should've pulled him after the blown call.

I see that he's diversifying.  Instead of just allowing in his own runs, he's moved on to also alienating his teammates by allowing inherited runners to score.  So that's...something.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

I get that Joe has to use him because they were taxed by the extra innings game, Lester didn't go deep, Ramirez is hurt, etc. I get that.

But why not try Motte (and yes, I know he gave up the homer but he'd been scoreless until then) try to wiggle you out of the men-on-base jam, and then see if Schlitter can go an inning on his own without sharting himself? Using Schlitter in the higher leverage situation is just bad.

There's gotta be someone as good or better in Iowa.

I was hoping Rivero would seize the opportunity, but he's been significantly less than good so far.

Joe Maddon's no idiot...methinks Schlitter is going to be spending a little time butthugging that bench while Edwin Jackson moves ahead of him in the bullpen.
