Oh I don't mind hot takes, I've fired off more than a few in my day, you can re-read this thread and find several of us screaming WHY WONT HE JUST THROW TO FIRST. I think the difference is more that CFIHP v Lester was a continued pattern of confirmation-bias fueled Chuckian trolling where he'd disappear for months at a time only to pop up after the occasional Lester stinker to tell us why he was DOOMED. That kinda bad faith fan-ing deserves scorn.

"Trolling" implies that he was posting to get  reaction. He was posting because he thought he was right.

Seeing Lester staring down the Cardinals' dugout after the pickoff: I almost cried tears of happiness.

I enjoyed how they were so obsessed with getting into Lester's head instead of just going out and playing normal baseball.  The first 4 hitters reached base Saturday, and 2 runs were in when Puddin' Head Matheny had Yadi--their # 5 hitter-- attempt to sacrifice bunt the 2 runners over, forcing Lester to make a play being the presumed motivation.  Instead, Yadi bunted foul twice, putting him behind in the count, before he rolled into a DP to effectively thwart the rally.

And yet, as Andy pointed out on Twitter, for all of their bags of tricks hoping to rattle Lester and force him to make plays, why would the runner from 3rd not attempt to score when Fowler hit one back to Lester later in the game (forget the inning)? It seems that would've been the best time to force him to make play.  Instead, the runner stayed on 3rd, Lester lobbed an underhanded putout to Rizzo and the Cardinals didn't score in the inning.

Such an enjoyable weekend seeing STL step all over their dicks.
