Hey Illinois, way to suck.

I voted for O'Malley. Seriously.

Because it's almost Saint Patricks day?

Because Chuck.

I really understand the Bortist approach of saying "fuck it" and not voting if you find all candidates reprehensible, especially Hillary. I don't really understand bothering to go through the trouble of voting only to cast said vote for someone who isn't even in the race. I mean even if you went just to vote against Anita Alvarez or whatever why not just leave the presidential portion of the ballot blank?

I had plenty of other races to vote for. I chimed in on Duckworth and Schneider.

I don't really see how a vote for O'Malley is any different from leaving it blank.  I did vote for one Hillary delegate, a friend of mine from Highland Park.  I countered that by voting for the two O'Malley delegates on my e-ballot.

True story--I'm not nearly as into the candidates as I was in my younger years but I went to the polls to vote against Alvarez.

I then saw that of the two challengers to Alvarez, one was Foxx, with 2 "X"'s and the other was Donna More, but without to "O''s.  They seemed like fake porn names crafted up by the jokesters at Cook County party Central to make things look transparent, but in any event I decided to go with Foxx and not More.

Looks like I guessed right.

You went to the polls to vote against Alvarez but didn't think to google the candidates running against her first?

I don't begrudge Bort. But I'm conflicted because this is an unprecedented type of candidate in Trump. If it was something like Kerry-Bush and you're really meh about both, that's fine. But I feel like there's a moral imperative to do whatever we can to stop a potential Hitler-type of situation. I don't think this is really a "lesser of two evils" thing. There's evil and there's evil.

All I ask is that no one is proud of or smug about voting in this election. Do what your conscience tells you, but don't pretend this is anything but a shameful choice forced on us all by a system that is flawed in the extreme.

I assure you I will be both solemn and annoyed as I vote for Hillary.

I know I'll be solemn and annoyed as I vote for Hillary.

I'm going to need a new, stronger metaphor than "holding my nose" when I vote for her this November.

Yup.  I actually left a lot blank this year for that very reason, except for a judge that my sister-in-law asked me to vote for.

I did hear Foxx interviewed on the radio and thought she was fine.  I just didn't know she had 2 X's in her last name and DAMMIT JUST LET ME MAKE MY JOKE.

TPD.  I cringe when I hear Hillary speak and I admit I'm not crazy about her on balance, but I'm actually looking forward to voting for her.  I'm sorry that the people who actively hate her will be so deeply conflicted about doing the same, but if Trump's the opponent it's the moral goddamn imperative so get over yourself.

You guys complain about your choices of candidates in a March primary.  I don't get to vote in a primary until June, when there won't be any choices left.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Kasich is looking at that as his last stand.

Obama picks Merrick Garland for SCOTUS a week after Orrin Hatch sings his praises, and a day after Trump essentially locks up the nomination, leaving the GOP with no option but trying to keep the Senate.

Blocking him will absolutely mean Harry Reid gets his gavel back in January.

Everyone is talking about what a masterful troll job it is by Obama, but I'm not sure Obama being forced to nominate a guy like Garland (who lots of Republicans like) is any sort of a win for him.

Yeah, I get that he's trying to paint them into a corner and make them look even more unreasonable than they already are, but I'm pretty sure if GOP obstructionism turned you off of voting for them you'd have made up your mind long before this point. I'm not sure trying to score a PR victory with this one outweighs actually appointing a justice you want. If I were the Democrats I'd just gamble on Hillary winning the election and then appoint someone you actually want, Republicans be damned. The Democrats constantly moving to the center in response to the GOP moving to the right is a bad trend that's gotten us into a lot of shit in the last decade and it's hardly a victory.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

None of you live in the 5th district with Ken Dunkin, right? If you do, and voted against him, I thank you
