Racing to 100 only to crash hard into the Cubs' giant tree full of ripening young talent was a fitting tribute to Oscar Taveras. Well done, Cardinals. #OT18 #winforoscar #tcot #neverforget
Too soon.

No it isn't, not when they turn the entire season into a tribute to him.

I still wonder how Jered Weaver (who carves Nick Adenhart's initials into the dirt of the mound before every start) feels about the Cardinals having a fucking armpatch for a drunk driver that murdered someone.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

I concur. Bring all the old posters back, except for Paul and Earl Cunningham

What about me?

Gotta bring the kid.

One day. :)  He's a huge Cubs fan, of course. My dad made sure of it. He's been extremely excited to watch the playoff games and can follow them pretty well since he played T-ball this summer.  He does, however, think that every force out is a double play.   About a year ago, when Baez came up, I told him that Javy hits a lot of homeruns, which actually turned out not to be true last year. But it nevertheless stuck, and Javy is his favorite player (with Russell and Schwarber and Arrietta right behind), so he was super excited by Javy's homerun yesterday.

Awesome. That Javy home run was so cool in so many ways, glad to know it made the little dude's day.

DPD. I tuned into "St. Louis's Sports Talk Radio 101 ESPN" just for a sample of what's going on today and I wasn't disappointed. Within seconds I was told that the Mets will beat the Dodgers and then "we'll see how those Cubs bats handle all those stud pitchers, good pitching beats good hitting every time, all those homers aren't gonna last." Good point, the Cubs got swept against those good Mets pitchers all year. Point, St. Louis. Then, because the Cubs bats aren't for real, the Mets will sweep the NLCS. The next caller named the series MVP, who was the wind, and "we're still Cardinal Nation." The hosts said "well said, well said."

This is awesome.

It probably pisses him off so much that he dials the fastball up to 86.

I wish we could add sound to that .gif, because the TBS guys' reaction to when he did that was priceless.

It was like bottling Cardinals Nation into one aghast moment.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

They didn't poo-poo Grichuk taking a curtain call for hitting a home run to cut the deficit to 3 runs, but they were furious at Rodney for that one. Wonder what the difference is there

Now these St. Louis hosts are talking about how the Cardinals make the most money in the league so they can sign whoever they want. Can we send this tape to the league to stop the free "competitive balance" draft picks?

PS Every single caller so far has signed off with "Cardinal Nation."

Guys I posted here about a decade ago (and once in the late 2000s, or so, who the fuck cares) as RockTheIvy. You guys commiserated with me in 2004. What a clusterfuck. This was amazing. When the Cubs made the postseason, I realized I needed to come back here. Where the fuck else could a long time loser spend his time? With fucking Yellon? Of course. This is fucking special. I hope you're all well. I'll stick around here this time.

And fuck Matt Carpenter/Dickface Holiday/Pudding-brain Matheny. They can play the game the right way in hell.

Speaking as a semi-active poster, unlike you crazy people that don't seem to ever have to do work all day and have thousands of posts, I love seeing some old accounts active again. This team, man. This is fun.

I concur. Bring all the old posters back, except for Paul and Earl Cunningham
