OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Also, Clarke's across the street is good for the usual 5am "breakfast," and there's always the chance you'll be hit on by a drag queen spilling out of Berlin.

Yah mo B there!

We always hit the Clarkes on Lincoln right next to the Biograph.

For deli in Lincoln Park, the best was always Frances' on Clark between Deming and Wrightwood.  Good pancakes, too.  Not sure if it's still open.  Anyone?

DENNY'S!!!! Nothing beats a Grand Slam when it's really early in the morning and it's pouring rain outside.

Oh yeah, any of you ever hear of the Skyline restaraunt in Chicago Heights?
Dear Jim,

Please don't screw this up any further.

Anyone have the new Burger King Enormous Omelet Sandwich?

760 calories, 50 grams of fat.

Gimme two, with a side of those awful fries...

Just had to chime in on this:

Friday I went to an Ann Sather's, and had the French Toast Fantasy:

They take a few of their cinnamon rolls, slice them and toast them up, and stuff them with mascarpone cheese, then top it with powdered sugar, honey-glazed granola, blueberries and strawberries, and topped it all off with whipped cream.

All was good until the second bite, when I started coming prematurely and uncontrollably all down my pantlegs, my shoes got all wet, and everyone was freaked out about the faces I was making

I might spend a couple days in Pennsylvania Dutch country in a couple weeks. I should earn a black belt in breakfast by the time I'm done...

I had breakfast at McD's for the first time the other day, and you have to try the new Sausage McGriddles.  That was pretty damn good.

Your FIRST McD's breakfast?

Two problems I have with this:

1) You hail from Florida.  Are you NEW to this country?
2) You hail from Florida.  What the hell's wrong with SONIC's breakfast, that you had to go to McD's?

There's a Sonic in Venice, a little south of where I live. I've had lunch there, and have had lunch at the Sonic in Maryvale, AZ.

McGriddles aren't that bad.

"Yolk" on Michigan, just north of Roosevelt, has bacon waffles, which is one of the best breakfast foods of all time.  But the best place in the city is Salt & Pepper on Lincoln/Wrightwood/Sheffield.  It may be located in Douche Central, but the food is good and the waitresses (there are 3 that have been there for at least the year and a half I've been going) are all awesome.

I ate at that Yolk (there's another on Wells, just south of Chicago)  the morning after the Cubs Convention /Desipio Confab in 2007 when Len first met us for a few beers.  We got plowed, took the Red Line all the way to Howard, crashed for five hours, came back down on 5 hours sleep still drunk and Yolk was like the greatest thing ever at that moment so THIS.
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

The Monitor Skillet at the Lincoln Restaurant, near Lincoln, Irving and Damen....

AND

...the eggs benedict at Ann Sathers on Belmont.  You can have it either with toast or their world-famous cinammon rolls.  If you opt for the toast, you're a dope.

DPD.

Since this thread was bumped, just a reminder....this is still true.  Only thing different is that Alderman Tunney has since moved his Belmont eatery east about 120 feet.

It saddens me that this thread has fallen by the wayside.  Over the past 8 months or so, I have a new appreciation for breaking my overnight fast each day.

Some of my favorites:

Greek sausage omelet at Lou Mitchell's.
Jambalaya omelet at Wishbone.
Skirt steak and eggs at S&G (Hawk knows what's up).

What else is out there?

Go to Longman and Eagle for fried chicken and waffles and one of the best bloody marys you'll ever drink.

How is it that this thread was never Ratto'd? A review of the posts on page 1 was quite sad to see who we've lost.

Also, avoid Max & Benny's these days for breakfast.  Eggs are quite bland. Eggshell Cafe on Lake Cook is far better.

Lobster Benedict at Deleece. (although it's on a brunch menu, so it's not technically breakfast)
