This is why the phrase "jumped the shark" was coined.  They had a lot of notice that John Stewart was leaving.  Trevor Noah was the best they could find?  Maybe he had photographs.

Perfect example.  Here is a topic where the idea is really strong, and the execution (not the video clips, but Noah himself) is poor. He had a couple good moments (South Africa and India, basically) but  John Stewart would have destroyed this.

In fact, I really feel a bit robbed that we don't have John Stewart for this election cycle. I can't imagine how good he would have been. This is truly tailor-made for him and he retired right before.
