As we've all been saying, the Cubs are going to make opposing pitchers absolutely miserable more nights than not all season. This inning is a masterclass in patience and discipline.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

The timing of the post today about Cubs hitters with walks/OBA as well as FanGraphs talking about how ridiculously patient their hitters are is scary with how the bottom 1st is going tonight. Simon goes 49 pitches and gets the hook already, lol.

This is absolutely, even already at this point, hard to fathom.

18 of the 25 innings they've scored in have been crooked #'s. Go heavy or go home.

I'm already stoked for their trip to Dogpatch next week.

If you take out John Lackey's 8 runs in 12.2 innings, the Cubs have a team ERA of 1.83. Even with him it's 2.51. Their bullpen has allowed 2 ER in 19 innings of work.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Even if you leave them in, the Cubs still have 7 quality starts in 8 games, and they won the one game that wasn't a QS.

There is no team in baseball that is going to enjoy playing the Cubs this year.

Yeah but I wanted to praise this team while still shitting on Lackey and I say Mission Accomplished.

Lackey should spend every non-pitching day doing the breast stroke through a pool of elephant diarrhea. And if the Cubs had anybody who was a better option as a #3 starter, I'd want him doing it on pitching days too.

While watching last night's game, the camera panned on Lackey in the dugout and my wife said "I don't like that guy. He looks like a douche." She's about as oblivious to baseball as you can be, and even she knows.
M'lady.

Haha...my wife was the same, watching Lackey pitch last night when Deshaies was talking about how the team likes him, but no one else does...Her: "Isn't that guy supposed to be an asshole?"...Me: "Yeah, nobody likes him."

This fucking team.

I hope bullpen pitchers are tipping the Wrigley clubhouse attendants extra well this season...cleaning up their pants is going to be dirty work.
Those Cardinals aren't red, they're yellow.  Like the Spanish!
