Fork was right.

That motherfucking seer also insanely predicted last year that Schwarber would be an October surprise.

That was really Andy's hobbyhorse

Unless Andy went public with this notion before June 2nd, I'd like to get a little credit.

This was May.

This one didn't age well.

Quote20. Kyle Hendricks – As fifth starters go he's a pretty good one. [........] My guess is that when the Cubs make a trade to bring in a top notch starter to basically kick Lackey and Hammel down a notch in the playoff rotation that Kyle goes the other way in the trade.

Oof.

And though there's no record of it due to the ephemeral nature of the Slackbox, But I began floating the idea about Schwarber there around the second week of May.  I remember because PenFoe mocked me mercilessly for the suggestion.

When you make 400-500 frokdictions per year, the laws of numbers suggest that one or two are bound to be right.  Something about a broken clock finding a nut and all that shit.

What was his post-callup slash line anyway?

What was his post-callup slash line anyway?

.255/.338/.565/.903, 18 HR, 23 BB, 75 K.

Over a full season that's a 45 dinger pace.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Glad to know my math works out the same way.

I had no idea his OPS climbed over .900 in the 225 PA's he had after getting called back (261 PA's before the demotion).

He needs to be the mostly-everyday left-fielder next year (and Almora needs to play center everyday).
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Interesting.

I mean Kyle Schwarber had the worst year he's likely to ever have and he still finished ahead of Grichuk in fWAR and WARP (albeit behind him bWAR), so, okay.

It's a little less than that because of his limited PAs vs lefties. He had about half the number of PAs post recall as you would expect were he an everyday player.  A full season for him if platooned as he was post recall probably takes away 50-75 PAs.
